Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RoleReady ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with these terms, you can't use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Here's everything RoleReady offers to help with your job search:

  • Job application tracking and organization
  • AI-powered job posting extraction and analysis
  • Resume and cover letter generation and tailoring
  • Interview preparation tools and question generation
  • Company research and briefings
  • Document management and storage
  • Chrome browser extension for saving jobs from external sites

3. Account Registration

To keep things running smoothly, here's what we ask when you create an account:

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
  • You may maintain only one account per person

4. Acceptable Use

Authorized Use

You're welcome to use RoleReady for personal job searching, career development, and professional document preparation.

Prohibited Activities

Please don't do any of the following:

  • Scraping, crawling, or otherwise extracting data from the Service in an automated manner
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Service
  • Using AI-generated content (summaries, resume suggestions, interview answers) to misrepresent your qualifications or experience
  • Spamming, harassment, or abuse of other users
  • Automated bulk access without prior written permission
  • Using the Service for any illegal purpose

5. User Content

  • Ownership: You keep ownership of all data you provide, including resumes, job notes, and documents
  • License to Process: By submitting content to RoleReady, you give us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content through AI so we can provide the Service
  • Responsibility:You're responsible for the accuracy and legality of all information you provide

6. AI-Generated Content

  • AI summaries, interview questions, resume suggestions, and other generated content are produced by third-party large language models
  • AI output may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or misrepresentations. You're responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before use
  • Job extraction results may not perfectly represent the original job posting
  • RoleReady isn't responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content

7. Intellectual Property

  • The RoleReady name, logo, branding, software, and design are owned by RoleReady and protected by intellectual property laws
  • Open source components used in the Service keep their respective licenses
  • You can't use the RoleReady name, logo, or branding without prior written consent

8. Subscription & Billing

  • RoleReady offers Free and Pro plans, billed through Polar (polar.sh)
  • Billing terms are subject to Polar's terms of service
  • You can request a refund within 7 days of a charge by contacting billing@roleready.me

9. Termination

  • You can delete your account at any time via Settings > Privacy & Data
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • When your account is terminated, your data will be deleted within 30 days

10. Limitation of Liability

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
  • We're not liable for the accuracy of AI-generated content
  • We're not liable for any outcomes related to job applications, interviews, or hiring decisions
  • Our maximum aggregate liability won't exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoleReady from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of AI-generated content, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration, unless you opt out within 30 days of agreeing to these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we'll notify you via email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Miscellaneous

  • Severability: If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect
  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and RoleReady
  • Assignment:You can't assign your rights under these Terms without our consent
  • Waiver:If we don't enforce a particular part, that doesn't mean we're giving up the right to enforce it later
